Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mixing Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined.

  2. 2

    Forming Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 1 inch thick. Make a slight indent in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheating the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a frying pan over medium-high heat. If using a pan, add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cooking the Patties

Place the patties on the hot grill or pan. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a nice crust forms. Flip the patties and cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium doneness.

  3. 5

    Adding Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover the grill or pan to melt the cheese.

Preparing the Toppings and Sauce

  1. 6

    Chopping Vegetables

While the patties are cooking, wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomato into thick slices.

  2. 7

    Making the House Sauce

In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and pickle relish. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 8

    Toasting the Bun

Optionally, toast the burger bun on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 9

    Building the Burger

Spread a generous amount of house sauce on the bottom half of the bun. Place the cooked patty with melted cheese on top, followed by the lettuce and tomato slices. Top with the other half of the bun.
