In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter.

Cook Meatballs
In a large skillet over medium heat, add a drizzle of olive oil and cook the meatballs for about 8-10 minutes, turning them until browned on all sides.

Add Tomatoes and Seasonings
Add crushed tomatoes, red chili flakes, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine and let simmer for about 10 minutes.

Stir in the chopped fresh basil into the sauce just before serving.

Layer Meatballs and Sauce
Place cooked meatballs in the skillet with the spicy pomodoro sauce, ensuring they are well coated.

Top the meatballs with slices of mozzarella cheese and cover the skillet with a lid. Cook for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

Serve the meatballs on slices of focaccia bread, spooning extra pomodoro sauce over the top.
