Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Espresso
Brew 200 ml of strong espresso coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature.
- 2
Mix Espresso with Liqueur
In a shallow dish, combine the cooled espresso with 50 ml of coffee liqueur (if using). Set aside.
- 3
Prepare the Cream Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine 500 g of mascarpone cheese and 100 g of granulated sugar. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- 4
Whip the Heavy Cream
In a separate bowl, whip 200 ml of heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
- 5
Soak the Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the espresso mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
- 6
Layer the Tiramisu
In a 9x9 inch (or similar size) dish, arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture over the ladyfingers.
- 7
Add Second Layer
Repeat the process with another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone cream mixture.
- 8
Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best flavor.
- 9
Serve the Tiramisu
Before serving, dust the top with 30 g of cocoa powder and garnish with shavings of dark chocolate.
