Egg Mixture

Method

Preparation of Egg Mixture

  1. 1

    Make the Egg Batter

In a mixing bowl, crack the 2 large eggs and whisk them until well beaten. Add 1 cup of milk, 1 tsp of ground cinnamon, 1 tsp of vanilla extract, 1 tbsp of sugar, and a pinch of salt. Mix until all ingredients are combined and the batter is uniform.

Cooking the French Toast

  1. 2

    Preheat the Griddle

Heat a non-stick griddle or skillet over medium heat. Add 2 tbsp of butter and let it melt, making sure to coat the surface evenly.

  2. 3

    Dip the Bread

Take each slice of the thick bread and dip it into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated. Allow any excess batter to drip off.

  3. 4

    Cook the Bread

Place the coated bread slices onto the hot griddle. Cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and slightly crispy. Adjust the heat as necessary to prevent burning.

Serving

  1. 5

    Plate and Serve

Once cooked, remove the French toast from the griddle and transfer to plates. Serve warm, topped with maple syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar, if desired.
