Cake Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This ensures that the cakes bake properly and develop a molten center.
- 2
Prepare the Ramekins
Grease four ramekins with butter and lightly dust them with cocoa powder to prevent sticking. Place them on a baking sheet for easy handling.
- 3
Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
- 4
Mix Sugar and Eggs
In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and eggs until well combined and slightly frothy.
- 5
- 6
Add Dry Ingredients
Sift in the all-purpose flour, add the vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 7
Fill Ramekins
Evenly distribute the batter among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.
- 8
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.
