Toast the Bread
Place the slices of sourdough bread in a toaster or on a grill. Toast until golden brown and crispy, about 3-5 minutes.

Prepare the Avocado
Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl. Add lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.

Mash the Avocado
Using a fork, mash the avocado mixture to your desired consistency (smooth or chunky).

Prepare the Toppings
Halve the cherry tomatoes and set aside. Tear basil leaves into smaller pieces if desired.

Assemble the Toast
Spread the mashed avocado evenly over each slice of toasted bread.

Top the avocado with halved cherry tomatoes, drizzle with olive oil, and scatter fresh basil leaves on top.
