Pork Chops

Rootbeer Glaze

Method

Prepare Pork Chops

  1. 1

    Season the Pork Chops

Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Sear the Pork Chops

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops to the skillet and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown. Remove the chops from the skillet and set aside.

Make Rootbeer Glaze

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a saucepan, combine the root beer, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir well to combine.

  2. 4

    Thicken the Glaze

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water together until smooth. Bring the root beer mixture to a simmer over medium heat, then stir in the cornstarch mixture. Continue to cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly until the glaze thickens.

Cook Pork Chops

  1. 5

    Coat the Pork Chops

Return the seared pork chops to the skillet. Pour the root beer glaze over the pork chops, ensuring they are well coated.

  2. 6

    Simmer

Reduce the heat to low and cover the skillet. Let the pork chops simmer in the glaze for about 10-15 minutes, or until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

Serve

  1. 7

    Plate and Serve

Once cooked, remove the pork chops from the skillet and place them on a serving platter. Drizzle additional glaze over the top and serve hot.
