Method
Preparing the Salmon
- 1
Season the Salmon
In a small bowl, mix together paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this spice mixture all over the salmon fillets and let them sit for about 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- 2
Prepare Breading Station
Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls. In the first bowl, add flour. In the second bowl, beat the egg until smooth. In the third bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs.
- 3
Bread the Salmon
Dredge each salmon fillet in the flour, ensuring it’s fully coated. Dip it into the beaten egg, allowing excess to drip off. Finally, coat the salmon in panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
Cooking the Salmon
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Salmon
Carefully place the breaded salmon fillets into the hot oil. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove the salmon and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
Assembling the Sandwich
- 6
Prepare the Buns
While the salmon is frying, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly if desired.
- 7
Build the Sandwich
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf on top, followed by a slice of tomato. Add the crispy fried salmon on top of the tomato.
- 8
Add Sauce and Serve
Drizzle sriracha sauce over the salmon, then place the top half of the bun to complete the sandwich. Serve immediately.
