Directions
- 1
Prepare the Pork
Start by tenderizing the pork loin chops with a meat mallet until they are about 1/2 inch thick.
- 2
Marinate the Pork
In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, egg, 1 tsp of salt, and 1/2 tsp of black pepper. Mix well. Submerge the pork chops in the buttermilk mixture and let them marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
- 3
Prepare the Breading
In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, remaining salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
- 4
Coat the Pork
Remove the pork chops from the buttermilk marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off. Dredge each chop in the flour mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated. Shake off any excess flour.
- 5
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet or deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 6
Fry the Pork
Carefully place the coated pork chops in the hot oil. Fry them in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and have an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- 7
Drain and Serve
Once cooked, remove the pork chops from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your choice of sides.
