Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the fridge and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the steaks with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder, ensuring both sides are well coated.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Heat a skillet or grill over high heat. Once hot, add the steaks and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting time to your preferred doneness.

  4. 4

    Add Rosemary

During the last minute of cooking, add fresh rosemary to the skillet and spoon the melted fat over the steaks for added flavor.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from heat and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into equal-sized pieces. Place them in a large pot of cold, salted water.

  2. 7

    Cook the Potatoes

Bring the pot to a boil and cook the potatoes for 15-20 minutes, or until fork-tender.

  3. 8

    Prepare Garlic

While the potatoes are boiling, peel the garlic cloves and set aside.

  4. 9

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the garlic cloves, butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

  5. 10

    Serve

Serve the garlic mashed potatoes alongside the ribeye steak.
