Meatball Preparation

Mix Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, minced garlic, egg, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix until just combined.

Form Meatballs
Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake Meatballs
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.

Sauté Vegetables
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute.

Add Tomatoes and Seasoning
Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes.

Add Fresh Basil
Stir in the chopped fresh basil and remove the sauce from heat.
Combine and Serve

Combine Meatballs and Sauce
Once the meatballs are cooked, add them to the skillet with the sauce, gently coating them.

Add Cheese
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the meatballs and sauce. Cover the skillet and let it sit on low heat until the cheese is melted.

Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
