Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9x13 inch baking pan by greasing it lightly with butter or non-stick spray.

  2. 2

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the whole milk, melted unsalted butter (let it cool slightly), and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  5. 5

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  6. 6

    Cool

Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frosting

  1. 7

    Make the Frosting

In a mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder, mixing until combined and fluffy.

  2. 8

    Add Milk and Vanilla

Add the milk and vanilla extract to the frosting mixture. Beat on medium speed until the frosting is smooth and spreadable. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk if necessary.

  3. 9

    Frost the Cake

Once the cake is completely cool, spread the frosting evenly over the top of the cake using a spatula.

  4. 10

    Serve

Cut the cake into squares or rectangles and serve. Enjoy your delicious Lindores!
