Flatbread

Bleu Cheese Dressing

Method

Flatbread Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Combine Ingredients

In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Once the yeast is activated, add the olive oil and the yeast mixture to the flour.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  5. 5

    Preheat Oven and Shape Dough

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Roll out the dough into a rectangular shape and place it on a baking sheet.

Red Sauce Preparation

  1. 6

    Sauté Garlic

In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  2. 7

    Simmer Sauce

Add the canned crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Stir well and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes.

  3. 8

    Cool Sauce

Once the sauce thickens, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Assembling Flatbread

  1. 9

    Add Red Sauce

Spread a generous amount of the red sauce over the rolled-out flatbread.

  2. 10

    Add Toppings

Evenly distribute pepperoni and Capicola slices on top of the sauce.

  3. 11

    Bake Flatbread

Place the assembled flatbread in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.

Bleu Cheese Dressing Preparation

  1. 12

    Mix Dressing

In a bowl, combine bleu cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, milk, and lemon juice. Mix until smooth.

  2. 13

    Season Dressing

Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Serving

  1. 14

    Cool and Slice Flatbread

Once the flatbread is baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing.

  2. 15

    Serve

Serve with a side of bleu cheese dressing for dipping.
