Method

Sauce Preparation

  1. 1

    Sauté Garlic

In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

  2. 2

    Add Tomatoes and Spices

Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes and add the dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Stir well to combine.

  3. 3

    Simmer the Sauce

Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens slightly. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Bleu Cheese Dressing Preparation

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, crumbled bleu cheese, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 5

    Mix Well

Whisk all the ingredients together until smooth and well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

  3. 6

    Chill Dressing

Cover the dressing and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Assembling the Dish

  1. 7

    Prepare Pizza Base

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Roll out your pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.

  2. 8

    Spread Sauce

Spread a generous amount of the house-made red sauce evenly over the pizza base.

  3. 9

    Add Toppings

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce and then layer the pepperoni slices on top.

  4. 10

    Bake the Pizza

Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the crust is golden brown.

  5. 11

    Serve with Dressing

Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a minute, then slice and serve with the chilled bleu cheese dressing on the side.
