Chicken Wings

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken Wings

Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  2. 2

    Season the Wings

In a large bowl, combine baking powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.

  3. 3

    Bake the Wings

Place the wings on a wire rack set over a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. This step helps to render the fat.

  4. 4

    Increase the Temperature

After 30 minutes, increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) and bake for an additional 40-50 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through, until they are crispy and golden brown.

  5. 5

    Fry the Wings

While the wings are baking, heat the oil in a large pot or deep fryer over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, fry the wings in batches until they are golden brown and crispy, about 8-10 minutes per batch.

  6. 6

    Toss in Sauce

Remove the wings from the oil and let them drain on paper towels. In a large mixing bowl, toss the wings with your choice of buffalo sauce or barbecue sauce until evenly coated.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the crispy wings with ranch dressing and celery sticks on the side.
