Method
Cocktail
Combine and chill
Add 2 oz W.L. Weller Antique 107, 0.25 oz simple syrup, 3 dashes Angostura bitters and 1 dash orange bitters into a mixing glass filled with plenty of ice. Stir briskly for 20β30 seconds until the outside of the glass is well chilled and the liquid is slightly diluted.
Prepare glass
Place a large clear rocks glass in front of you and add 1 large ice cube (or several large cubes) to the glass.
Strain and garnish
Strain the chilled mixture over the large ice cube in the rocks glass. Express the orange peel over the drink by holding it skin-side down about 3β4 inches above the glass and giving it a firm twist so oils spray onto the surface; then rub the rim with the peel and drop it into the drink (or lay it on the ice as a garnish).
Serve immediately and sip slowly to appreciate the high-proof, caramel and vanilla-forward profile of W.L. Weller Antique 107 balanced by the gentle sweetness of the syrup and the aromatic bitters.
