Base & Citrus

Method

Base & Mixing

1

Prepare and combine

Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add 2 oz vodka, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, 0.25 oz fresh lemon juice, 1 oz peach or prickly pear juice, and 0.25 oz agave syrup to the shaker.

2

Shake

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for about 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold and slightly frosted. This chills and dilutes the mixture properly.

Assemble & Serve

3

Prepare glass

Fill a highball or copper mule mug with about 1 cup of ice (crushed preferred for a classic mule).

4

Strain and top

Strain the shaken mixture into the prepared glass over the ice. Top with about 4 oz cold ginger beer, pouring gently to retain carbonation. Stir once lightly with a bar spoon to combine.

5

Garnish

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Optionally add a sprig of fresh mint or a piece of candied ginger for extra aroma and Texas-style sweetness.

6

Serve

Serve immediately while cold and fizzy. Encourage guests to squeeze the lime wedge into the drink before sipping for added brightness.
