Method

Prep

1

Chill glass & ingredients

Place a large wine glass or goblet in the freezer for 5 minutes or fill with ice to chill while preparing other components. Ensure Prosecco and club soda are well chilled.

Build the Cocktail

2

Discard ice from the chilled glass if used to chill. Add cracked ice or fresh ice cubes to fill the glass about three-quarters full (approximately 1 cup).

3

Muddle mint with citrus

In a separate mixing glass or small shaker, add 4 of the fresh mint leaves, the fresh lemon juice (0.75 oz), and the simple syrup (0.5 oz). Gently muddle 6–8 times — press just enough to bruise the mint and release oils without shredding the leaves to avoid bitterness.

4

Strain the lemon-mint mixture over the ice in the prepared glass, using a fine strainer or the shaker’s strainer to remove torn leaf bits if desired.

5

Pour the chilled Prosecco (5 oz) slowly over the back of a spoon into the glass to preserve bubbles and create a layered look.

6

Top with chilled club soda (1 oz) for a light effervescence and to open the drink.

Finish & Garnish

7

Slap the remaining 2 fresh mint leaves between your palms once to wake the oils, then tuck them into the top of the drink for aroma. Garnish with a lemon wheel or twist on the rim.

8

Give the cocktail one gentle stir (1–2 rotations) to integrate flavors without losing carbonation. Serve immediately.
