Classic Margarita

Method

Classic Margarita

1

Prepare glass

Run a lime wedge around the rim of a rocks or coupe glass. Dip the rim into coarse salt to coat. Set glass aside.

2

Add ice to a cocktail shaker until half full.

3

Pour 1.5 oz Lunazul® Blanco Tequila, 1 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz agave syrup and 0.5 oz orange liqueur into the shaker.

4

Add a few ice cubes, secure the shaker lid, and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until well chilled.

5

Double-strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice (or serve up without ice if using a coupe).

6

Garnish with a lime wheel on the rim and serve immediately.

Prickly Pear Margarita

7

Prepare rim

Choose salt or tajín for the rim. Rub a lime wedge around the glass rim and dip into salt or tajín. Set aside.

8

Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.

9

Add 1.5 oz Lunazul® Blanco Tequila, 0.75 oz prickly pear syrup, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice and 0.5 oz orange liqueur to the shaker.

10

Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the exterior of the shaker is frosty and chilled.

11

Strain over fresh ice into the rimmed glass. If the syrup has seeds, double-strain to remove solids.

12

Garnish with a prickly pear wedge or a lime wheel and serve.

Blueberry Margarita

13

Muddle & rim

Place 6 fresh blueberries in a shaker and gently muddle until broken and juicy. Rub a lime wedge around the glass rim and dip into coarse salt or sugar.

14

Add ice to the shaker until half full.

15

Add 1.5 oz Lunazul® Blanco Tequila, 0.75 oz blueberry purée (or syrup), 0.75 oz fresh lime juice and 0.5 oz orange liqueur.

16

Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until chilled and the blueberry is integrated.

17

Double-strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice to remove solids for a smooth texture.

18

Garnish with a skewer of fresh blueberries or a lime wheel and serve.

Guava Margarita

19

Prepare glass

Wet the rim of your serving glass with a lime wedge and dip into coarse salt or sugar depending on desired sweetness. Set aside.

20

Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.

21

Add 1.5 oz Lunazul® Blanco Tequila, 0.75 oz guava purée or nectar, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice and 0.5 oz orange liqueur to the shaker.

22

Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until well chilled and slightly thickened from the guava.

23

Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice. If using pulpy guava purée, double-strain for a smoother drink.

24

Garnish with a lime wheel or thin guava slice and serve.
