Prepare glass
Fill a highball or Collins glass with ice to chill while you assemble the drink.
Mix
In a cocktail shaker (or mixing glass) add fresh lime juice and simple syrup. Add Bacardi Silver rum. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 8–10 seconds to chill and dilute slightly.
Assemble
Discard the ice from the chilled serving glass if desired and add fresh ice. Strain the rum mixture into the glass over the fresh ice.
Top & finish
Top with 2 oz soda water and gently stir once or twice to integrate. Garnish with a lime wedge or wheel on the rim.
Serve
Serve immediately with a straw if desired.
