Cocktail
Rim & Garnish
Method
Rim & Prepare Glass
- 1
Prepare the glass
Run the lime wedge around the outer rim of a chilled rocks or coupe glass to moisten. Spread the coarse sea salt (or Tajín) on a small plate and lightly dip just the outer edge of the glass rim into the salt so it adheres. Set the glass aside.
Mix Cocktail
- 2
Measure and combine
Add the reposado tequila (2 oz), orange liqueur (1 oz), fresh lime juice (1 oz), fresh grapefruit juice (1/2 oz), agave syrup (1/2 oz), and 2 dashes of orange bitters into a cocktail shaker.
- 3
Add ice and shake
Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup or enough to fill the shaker). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker becomes well chilled.
- 4
Double strain and serve
If you prefer a clean drink without ice shards, double strain the cocktail into the prepared chilled, salted-rim glass. Otherwise, serve over fresh ice in a rocks glass.
Garnish & Finish
- 5
Garnish with a thin grapefruit wheel or an orange twist and a lime wedge on the rim. Optionally, spray the grapefruit wheel over the drink to release aromatic oils before dropping it in. Serve immediately.
