Prepare the Coffee
Brew 1 cup of espresso coffee and let it cool slightly. Mix in 1 tablespoon of coffee liqueur and set aside.

Prepare the Egg Mixture
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the 3 egg yolks with 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and slightly thickened.

Combine Cream Ingredients
Add 500g of mascarpone cheese and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the egg mixture. Mix until well combined and smooth.

Whip the Cream
In another bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated.

Layer the Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a rectangular dish.

Add the Cream Filling
Spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture over the layer of ladyfingers evenly.

Repeat Layers
Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone cream mixture on top.

Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Serve and Garnish
Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings if desired.
