Cooking Pasta

Boil the Water
Fill a large pot with water, add a generous amount of salt, and bring it to a boil over high heat.

Cook the Spaghetti
Once the water is boiling, add the spaghetti. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

Reserve Pasta Water
Before draining the spaghetti, reserve about 1 cup of the pasta cooking water. Then drain the spaghetti and set aside.
Preparing the Sauce

Cook the Bacon
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the bacon. Cook until it's crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the skillet.

Mix the Egg Mixture
In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, grated Parmesan cheese, and black pepper until well combined.
Combining Ingredients

Combine Pasta and Bacon
Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the bacon fat, and toss to combine.

Plate the Carbonara
Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley and additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
