Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

1

Build and shake

Add 2 oz Botanist gin, 0.5 oz black fig & vanilla bean liqueur, 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice and 0.5 oz elderflower liqueur into a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold.

2

Double strain

Fine-strain the shaken mixture into a chilled coupe or large wine glass to remove ice shards and any pulp. The target volume in the glass before Prosecco should be roughly 3 oz.

3

Top with Prosecco

Gently top the strained cocktail with 2 oz chilled Prosecco. Pour slowly down the side of the glass to preserve effervescence and create a light foam on top.

Garnish & Finish

4

Float a thin slice of fresh black fig on the surface. Lightly scrape about 1/4 of a vanilla bean over the top of the cocktail to release seeds and perfume (alternatively, rub the outside of the lemon twist with the vanilla scrapings and then twist). Express the lemon twist over the drink and drop it in. If using, place an edible flower on the fig slice for presentation.

5

Serve immediately while the Prosecco is lively. Recommend pairing with light appetizers or as a celebratory aperitif.
