Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Mushrooms

Gently wipe the wild mushrooms with a damp cloth to remove any dirt. Avoid soaking them in water as they can absorb moisture.

  2. 2

    Chop the Onions

Peel and finely chop the sweet onion. Set aside for later.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Thyme

Strip the fresh thyme leaves from the stems and roughly chop them. Measure out 2 tablespoons for use in the recipe.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Sauté the Onions

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of truffle oil over medium heat. Add the chopped sweet onions and sauté until they are translucent and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 5

    Cook the Mushrooms

Add the wild mushrooms to the skillet with the onions. Sauté for an additional 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms are tender and golden brown.

  3. 6

    Season the Mixture

Add the fresh thyme, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir well and cook for another 2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

  4. 7

    Finish with Truffle Oil

Remove the skillet from heat and drizzle the remaining tablespoon of truffle oil over the mushroom mixture. Stir gently to combine.
