Preparing the Bruschetta Base

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).

Slice the Baguette
Slice the French baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices.

Prepare the Bread
Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet. Brush each slice lightly with olive oil and rub with the cut side of a garlic clove.

Toast the Bread
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and toast the baguette slices for about 8-10 minutes or until golden and crispy.
Making the Mushroom Topping

Prepare the Mushrooms
Clean the wild mushrooms with a damp cloth and slice them thinly.

Sauté Shallots
In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped shallots and sauté until they become translucent, about 2-3 minutes.

Season the Mixture
Stir in the fresh basil leaves, truffle oil, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add Cheese
Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the grated fontina cheese until melted and well combined.
Assembling the Bruschetta

Top the Toasts
Spoon the mushroom mixture generously over each toasted baguette slice.

Serve the wild mushroom bruschetta warm as an appetizer or snack.
