Chicken Fingers

Method

Chicken Fingers

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Cut the chicken breasts into strips about 1 inch wide. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika, and set aside.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In three separate shallow bowls, place the flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs. Season the flour with a pinch of salt and pepper.

  3. 3

    Bread the Chicken

Coat each chicken strip in flour, shaking off the excess. Dip it into the egg, then press it into the breadcrumbs until fully coated.

  4. 4

    Heat Oil

In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the cooking oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  5. 5

    Fry the Chicken

Carefully add the breaded chicken strips to the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.

Fries

  1. 6

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes, then cut them into thin strips (about 1/4 inch thick).

  2. 7

    Soak the Fries

Soak the potato strips in cold water for at least 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch and results in crispier fries.

  3. 8

    Dry the Potatoes

Drain and pat the potato strips dry with paper towels to remove moisture.

  4. 9

    Heat Oil for Frying

In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the cooking oil over medium-high heat until hot.

  5. 10

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches. Fry for 4-6 minutes until golden and crisp. Drain on paper towels and season with salt and pepper to taste.
