Method

For the BBQ Sliced Sirloin

  1. 1

    Prepare the Sirloin

Season the sirloin steak with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Heat the olive oil in a grill pan over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned sirloin steak and grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Add BBQ Sauce

In the last minute of grilling, brush BBQ sauce generously over the steak, allowing it to caramelize slightly. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Slice and Serve

Slice the sirloin thinly against the grain and serve with additional BBQ sauce on the side.

For the Rice Pilaf

  1. 5

    Sauté the Onion

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

  2. 6

    Cook the Rice

Add the long-grain rice to the saucepan and stir for about 1-2 minutes to toast the rice slightly.

  3. 7

    Add Broth

Pour in the chicken broth and add salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15-18 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.

  4. 8

    Fluff and Season

Remove from heat, fluff the rice with a fork, and add pepper to taste. Keep warm until serving.

For the Broccoli

  1. 9

    Prepare the Broccoli

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.

  2. 10

    Cook the Broccoli

Add the fresh broccoli florets to the skillet, stirring to coat with the garlic oil. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender yet crisp.

  3. 11

    Season the Broccoli

Season with salt and black pepper to taste and toss well to combine before serving.
