Fried Chicken
Sandwich Assembly
Method
Fried Chicken Preparation
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken thighs, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best results).
- 2
Prepare the Breading
On a plate, add the all-purpose flour. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well.
- 3
Bread the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the marinade and let any excess buttermilk drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating. Shake off any excess flour.
- 4
Fry the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded chicken thighs. Fry for about 7-8 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Sandwich Assembly
- 5
Cook the Bacon
In the same skillet used for the chicken, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and let drain on paper towels.
- 6
Toast the Buns
Toast the burger buns in a toaster or in a skillet until golden brown.
- 7
Assemble the Sandwich
On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a piece of fried chicken. Top with a slice of cheddar cheese, followed by two slices of bacon, a lettuce leaf, and a slice of tomato. Spread mayonnaise on the top half of the bun and place it on top to complete the sandwich.
