Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the ribeye steak from the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps the steak cook evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the steak on both sides with olive oil. Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and garlic powder evenly on both sides of the steak. Press the seasoning into the meat to ensure it adheres well.

Grilling

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat (about 450-500°F or 232-260°C) for at least 10-15 minutes.

  2. 4

    Grill the Steak

Place the seasoned ribeye steak on the hot grill. Grill for 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it to achieve a good sear.

  3. 5

    Flip and Continue Grilling

Flip the steak using tongs and grill for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare doneness. Adjust the time to 6-7 minutes if you prefer medium.

  4. 6

    Check for Doneness

Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. For medium-rare, it should be around 130-135°F (54-57°C).

Resting and Serving

  1. 7

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.

  2. 8

    Serve

Slice the steak against the grain, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve with a lemon wedge on the side if desired.
