Nori Crusted Ahi Tuna

Stir Fried Rice Noodles

Method

Nori Crusted Ahi Tuna

  1. 1

    Prepare the Nori Coating

Finely chop the nori sheets into small pieces or use a food processor to create a nori dust.

  2. 2

    Season the Ahi Tuna

Pat the Ahi tuna steaks dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Coat the Tuna

In a shallow dish, combine the nori dust with sesame oil and soy sauce to create a paste. Press each tuna steak into the nori mixture until evenly coated on all sides.

  4. 4

    Cook the Tuna

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add a little sesame oil if needed. Sear the tuna steaks for about 1-2 minutes on each side for rare, or longer to desired doneness.

Stir Fried Rice Noodles

  1. 5

    Cook the Rice Noodles

Boil water in a pot and add the rice noodles. Cook according to package instructions until tender, then drain and set aside.

  2. 6

    Prepare the Vegetables

Slice the bell pepper and carrots into thin strips. Chop the green onions and mince the garlic.

  3. 7

    Stir Fry the Vegetables

In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the bell pepper and carrots, stir-frying for 3-4 minutes until tender.

  4. 8

    Combine Noodles and Sauce

Add the cooked rice noodles to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour in soy sauce and ponzu sauce, tossing everything to coat evenly and heat through for another 2-3 minutes.
