Method

Preparing the Base

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In another bowl, cream the butter until smooth and add the granulated sugar. Beat until light and fluffy.

  3. 3

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.

  5. 5

    Prepare for Baking

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.

  6. 6

    Bake

Pour the batter into the baking dish and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Decorating the Glasses

  1. 7

    Cool the Base

Once baked, let the base cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.

  2. 8

    Prepare Icing

In a bowl, mix the powdered sugar with a few drops of water and food coloring to create a smooth icing consistency.

  3. 9

    Apply Icing

Once the base is cool, use a spatula to spread the icing over the top of the baked good.

  4. 10

    Add Glitter

Sprinkle edible glitter over the icing while it is still wet to ensure it sticks.

  5. 11

    Cut into Shapes

Once decorated, cut the base into glass shapes as desired and serve.
