Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This allows the oven to reach the right temperature for even baking.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well blended.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter

In another bowl, cream the unsalted butter until smooth. You can use an electric mixer on medium speed for about 2-3 minutes.

  4. 4

    Combine Wet Ingredients

Add the milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon to the creamed butter. Mix until fully combined.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  6. 6

    Add Chocolate Chips

Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Baking

  1. 7

    Prepare Baking Pan

Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

  2. 8

    Pour Batter

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.

  3. 9

    Bake

Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Finishing Touches

  1. 10

    Cool

Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

  2. 11

    Dust with Sugar

Before serving, dust the top with powdered sugar and sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired.
