Preparation of Ingredients

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

Thinly slice the medium onion and chop the garlic cloves. Clean and slice the mushrooms into thick slices.

Cooking the Beef

  1. 2

    Grill the Sirloin

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Season the chopped sirloin with salt and black pepper. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Remove from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes.

Caramelizing Onions and Sautéing Mushrooms

  1. 3

    Caramelize the Onions

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 10-15 minutes or until the onions are golden brown and caramelized.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Mushrooms

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the chopped garlic and mushrooms, and season with thyme, salt, and black pepper. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms are tender and browned.

Serving

  1. 5

    Plate the Dish

Slice the grilled sirloin if desired and place it on a serving plate. Top generously with the caramelized onions and sautéed mushrooms. Serve immediately.
