Method

Cooking the Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This ensures even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steaks

Rub the steaks with olive oil and season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and fresh rosemary on both sides.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steaks

Heat a grill or skillet over high heat. Once hot, add the steaks and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust time according to your preferred doneness.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steaks

Remove the steaks from the heat and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Making the Mashed Potatoes

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into quarters. Place them in a large pot and cover with cold water.

  2. 6

    Boil the Potatoes

Bring the pot of water to a boil over medium-high heat. Add a teaspoon of salt and boil the potatoes for about 15-20 minutes or until fork-tender.

  3. 7

    Add Garlic

In the last 5 minutes of boiling, add the peeled garlic cloves to the pot.

  4. 8

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and garlic, then return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.
