Fries Preparation Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into evenly sized sticks, about 1/4 inch thick.
- 2
Soak the Potatoes
Place the cut potatoes in a large bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Dry the Potatoes
Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- 5
Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the dried potato sticks to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- 6
Season the Fries
Remove the fries from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain. While still hot, sprinkle with salt, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper to taste.
- 7
Serve
Serve the fries hot, and enjoy with your favorite dipping sauces!
