Rustic Potato Fries

Rice

Method

Rustic Potato Fries

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and scrub the Russet potatoes thoroughly. Cut them into thick fries, about 1/2 inch wide.

  2. 2

    Season the Fries

In a large bowl, toss the cut potatoes with olive oil, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder until evenly coated.

  3. 3

    Bake the Fries

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the seasoned fries on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden brown.

  4. 4

    Garnish

Once baked, remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Rice

  1. 5

    Rinse the Rice

Rinse the long-grain rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.

  2. 6

    Cook the Rice

In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over high heat.

  3. 7

    Simmer

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.

  4. 8

    Fluff and Serve

Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork and stir in butter before serving.
