Add ingredients to shaker
Discard the chilling ice from the glass. In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz Bombay gin, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz simple syrup, and a handful of ice (about 4–6 large cubes).

Shake
Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for about 10–12 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty and well-chilled. This dilutes and chills the mixture and incorporates the lime and syrup with the gin.

Strain and top
Fill the chilled highball glass about two-thirds full with fresh ice. Strain the shaker contents into the glass. Top with approximately 1.5 oz (a splash) of soda water—pour gently to retain carbonation.
