Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties that are slightly larger than the burger buns.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

Prepare the Toppings

  1. 4

    Wash and Cut Vegetables

Rinse the lettuce leaves under cold water, then pat dry. Slice the tomato into thick rounds.

  2. 5

    Prepare the House Sauce

If using a pre-made house sauce, set it aside. If making from scratch, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, and a dash of mustard in a bowl and mix well.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Toast the Buns

Optional: Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty, a slice of tomato, and a dollop of house sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
