Method

Frying the Shrimp

  1. 1

    Prepare the Breading

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Whisk to distribute evenly.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Wet Mixture

In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk until well combined.

  3. 3

    Coat the Shrimp

Dunk each shrimp into the wet mixture first, then dredge in the flour mixture, ensuring they are well coated.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Shrimp

Fry the shrimp in batches for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Assembling the Tacos

  1. 6

    Prepare the Tortillas

Warm the corn tortillas on a skillet for about 30 seconds on each side until soft and pliable.

  2. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

On each tortilla, place a layer of shredded lettuce followed by the fried shrimp.

  3. 8

    Add Toppings

Top the shrimp with pico de gallo, sliced bell peppers, and sliced onions.

  4. 9

    Finish with Avocado

Add slices of avocado on top and fold the tortillas in half to enclose the fillings.
