Method
Chips
- 1
Prepare the Tortillas
Cut each corn tortilla into 6 equal wedges to create chips.
- 2
Heat the Oil
In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it's hot enough for frying. To test, drop a piece of tortilla in; it should sizzle.
- 3
Fry the Chips
Carefully add the tortilla wedges in batches to the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- 4
Drain and Season
Using a slotted spoon, remove the chips from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt while still hot.
Salsa

Mix the Salsa
In a medium bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and cilantro. Add lime juice and salt, mixing well to combine all ingredients.
- 7
Chill and Serve
Cover the salsa and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
