Method
Prepare Taco Filling
- 1
Cook the Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
- 2
- 3
Season the Mix
Stir in the taco seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Remove from heat and set aside.
Prepare Taco Shells
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
- 5
Fry the Tortillas
One at a time, carefully place a corn tortilla in the hot oil. Using tongs, fold the tortilla in half and hold it to create a taco shape. Fry for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Assemble the Tacos
- 6
Fill the Shells
Once the taco shells are ready, fill each one with the prepared beef mixture.
- 7
Add Toppings
Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, and salsa as desired.
