Method
Prepare the Protein
- 1
Cook the Ground Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
- 2
Season the Meat
Add chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to the cooked ground beef. Stir to combine and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the spices are fragrant.
- 3
Optional Meat Preparation
If using brisket or pulled pork, prepare them by shredding the brisket and reheating pulled pork. Mix with a bit of BBQ sauce for extra flavor if desired.
Assemble the Nachos
- 4
Layer the Chips
On a large baking sheet, spread out a layer of tortilla chips evenly.
- 5
Add Protein
Evenly distribute the cooked ground beef (or brisket/pulled pork) over the tortilla chips.
- 6
Add Cheese
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese generously over the chips and meat.
Bake the Nachos
- 7
Bake
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the nachos in the oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Finish and Serve
- 8
Add Toppings
Remove the nachos from the oven and top with sliced jalapeños, sour cream, guacamole, sliced green onions, and black olives.
- 9
Serve
Serve immediately while still warm and enjoy your delicious nachos!
