Method
Cocktail
- 1
- 2
Add 6 ice cubes to a cocktail shaker.
- 3
Pour in 2 oz Absolut Vodka.
- 4
Add 0.5 oz Grand Marnier.
- 5
Add 0.5 oz Domain de Canton Ginger Liqueur.
- 6
Add 1 oz cranberry juice.
- 7
Add 0.5 oz fresh lime juice (strain if desired for clarity).
- 8
If you prefer a slightly sweeter Cosmo, add 0.25 oz simple syrup. This is optional — taste after shaking and adjust next time if needed.
- 9
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 12–18 seconds, until the shaker is well-chilled and the exterior is frosty. The goal is to both chill and dilute the drink appropriately.
- 10
Dump the ice or water from the chilled glass.
- 11
Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled martini/coupé glass using a Hawthorne or fine strainer to remove small ice shards and any pulp from the lime.
Garnish & Serve
- 12
Thread a thin candied ginger slice on the edge of the glass or float it on the surface, if using.
- 13
Express a lime twist over the drink (pinch the peel to release oils) and either drop the twist into the glass or run it around the rim. Alternatively, rest a lime wheel on the rim.
- 14
Serve immediately. The Ginger Cosmo is best enjoyed very cold with bright ginger and citrus notes balanced by the cranberry and orange liqueur.
