Method

Cocktail

1

Combine and shake

Add vanilla vodka (2 oz), pineapple juice (3 oz), fresh lemon juice (0.75 oz), simple syrup (0.5 oz) and 1 tsp ground cinnamon into a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup) so the drink will chill quickly.

2

Dry shake (optional)

To better incorporate the cinnamon into the liquid and develop slight froth, close the shaker and shake vigorously without ice for 10–12 seconds.

3

Wet shake

Add the ice to the shaker if you dry-shook, or if you already added ice before the dry shake just proceed: shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until well chilled and the shaker is cold to the touch.

4

Strain

Double-strain the cocktail into a chilled coupe or rocks glass (use a fine mesh strainer to catch cinnamon bits) over fresh ice if you prefer it on the rocks or neat if not.

Garnish & Finish

5

Carefully dust about 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon powder on the surface of the drink using a small sieve for an even, light sprinkle.

6

Thread a pineapple wedge and a lemon twist on a cocktail pick and place it on the rim or float the lemon twist on top. Serve immediately.
