Burger Patties & Seasoning
Caesar Dressing
Toppings & Assembly
Method
Burger Patties & Seasoning
- 1
Mix and form
In a medium bowl combine 1 lb ground beef, 1 tsp Worcestershire, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp fine sea salt and 1 tsp black pepper. Gently mix with your hands or a fork until just combined; avoid overworking. Divide into two equal portions and form into patties about 3/4-inch thick, slightly wider than the buns. Make a shallow dimple in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent doming while cooking.
- 2
Cook patties
Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat and add 1 tbs olive oil. When shimmering, add patties and cook 3–4 minutes per side for medium (adjust time for desired doneness). Resist pressing down on the patties. For a thin crisp edge, increase heat to medium-high for the last minute of each side. Remove to a plate and tent loosely with foil to rest for 3–5 minutes.
Caesar Dressing
- 3
Make dressing
In a small bowl whisk together 1 tbs mayonnaise, 2 tbs Greek yogurt, 2 tbs grated Parmesan, 1 tsp fresh lemon juice, 1 tsp anchovy paste, 1 tsp Dijon mustard, 1 minced garlic clove and 1/4 tsp black pepper until smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning — add a few drops of water to thin if too thick, or more lemon for brightness.
Toppings & Assembly
- 4
Prepare lettuce and buns
Wash and spin or pat dry 2 cups romaine lettuce and roughly chop into bite-size pieces. Coarsely crush croutons to resemble coarse crumbs. Heat a separate skillet over medium heat and spread 1 tbs butter on cut sides of 2 buns; toast cut-side down until golden, about 1–2 minutes.
- 5
Assemble CaesarBurger
Spread a generous tablespoon of the Caesar dressing on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place a handful of chopped romaine on the dressing, then set the hot beef patty on top. Spoon an additional 1–2 teaspoons of dressing over the patty, add a few Parmesan shards and a sprinkle of crushed croutons for crunch. If using, add tomato slices. Cap with the top bun and press gently.
- 6
Serve
Serve immediately while patties are warm. Offer extra Caesar dressing and lemon wedges at the table. Leftover dressing keeps refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
