Preparation of Cauliflower
- 1
Prep the Cauliflower
Remove the leaves and stem from the cauliflower head. Cut the cauliflower into small florets.
- 2
Blanch the Cauliflower
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cauliflower florets and blanch for 3-4 minutes until slightly tender. Drain and set aside.
Making the Sauce
- 3
Combine Sauce Ingredients
In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, cornstarch, and water. Whisk until smooth.
- 4
Cook the Sauce
Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir the mixture continuously until it thickens, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
Grilling and Assembly
- 5
Grill the Cauliflower
Heat olive oil in a grill pan over medium heat. Add the blanched cauliflower florets and grill for 4-5 minutes on each side until they develop a nice char.
- 6
Add Lavender
Sprinkle the lavender over the grilled cauliflower while it cooks for added flavor.
- 7
Prepare Nori and Bread
While the cauliflower is grilling, grill the sourdough bread until golden brown. Cut the nori sheets into strips.
- 8
Serve
On a serving plate, arrange the grilled cauliflower. Drizzle the sweet and sour sauce over the top. Garnish with nori strips and serve with grilled sourdough bread on the side.
