Fermented Chile Butter Sauce

Method

Shrimp Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Shrimp

In a bowl, combine the large shrimp with salt and black pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for about 15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Wrap with Nori

Take a strip of nori and place a shrimp at one end. Roll the nori around the shrimp, ensuring it is tightly wrapped. Repeat with remaining shrimp.

Fermented Chile Butter Sauce Preparation

  1. 3

    Make the Butter Sauce

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, stir in the fermented chili paste, minced garlic, fresh lavender flowers, and lemon juice. Mix well until combined and heated through, about 3-5 minutes.

Cooking the Shrimp

  1. 4

    Cook the Shrimp

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the nori-wrapped shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.

Serving

  1. 5

    Serve

Place the cooked nori shrimp on a serving platter and drizzle generously with the fermented chile butter sauce. Garnish with additional fresh lavender flowers if desired.
