Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Focaccia

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the focaccia bread into cubes or wedges. Place them on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil, then sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and dried Italian herbs. Toss to coat evenly.

  2. 2

    Toast the Bread

Bake the focaccia in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until golden and crispy. Remove from the oven and set aside.

  3. 3

    Make the Cheese Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.

  4. 4

    Add the Cheese

Gradually add the smoked gouda cheese to the saucepan, stirring continuously until melted and smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  5. 5

    Serve

Transfer the cheese sauce to a fondue pot or a serving bowl. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately with the toasted focaccia for dipping.
