Waffle Batter

Method

Waffle Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Waffle Batter

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; some lumps are okay.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Waffle Iron

Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions. Lightly grease it with non-stick spray or a brush of melted butter.

  3. 3

    Cook the Waffles

Pour an appropriate amount of batter onto the preheated waffle iron (usually about 1/2 to 2/3 cup, depending on the size of your iron). Close the lid and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crisp, usually about 5-7 minutes.

  4. 4

    Serve

Once cooked, carefully remove the waffles and serve them warm. Dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with real maple syrup.
